Frequently asked questions

What does domestic assistance include?

Washing, ironing, cleaning, mopping, vacuuming, dishes, gardening and meal preparation - tailored to what you need at home.

Is domestic assistance covered by the NDIS?

A practical support for everyday living

Domestic assistance is arranged around the participant’s assessed needs, goals and preferred household routines. We discuss which tasks are difficult to complete safely and agree on priorities, timing and the level of assistance required.

Tasks that may be supported

Depending on the participant’s NDIS plan and service agreement, support may include cleaning, mopping, vacuuming, laundry, ironing and other agreed household tasks. Activities must relate to the participant’s disability support needs and remain within the agreed service scope.

Working with the participant

Where appropriate, workers can complete tasks alongside the participant to build confidence and household skills. Participants decide how their home is managed and can explain preferences about products, routines and areas requiring attention. We aim to provide respectful, reliable support in the participant’s own space.
